Research is a mandatory and integral component of all training programs in OMSB. In addition other health professionals should equip themselves with research knowledge and skills including basics of bio-statistics & basic statistical testing. In order to achieve that, this online workshop is intended to introduce the common principles of bio-statistics and  statistical testing.

Workshop Outlines:

Module 1: Fundamentals of Biostatistics

Module 2: Common Epidemiological and Statistical Measures in Health Research

Module 3: Statistical Tests

Module 4: Introduction to Multivariate Analysis

Module 5: Diagnostic Accuracy and Agreement Measures

Target Audience & registration:

Mainly OMSB Residents in late residency. OMSB trainers & other Healthcare professionals maybe considered and can register thru the OMSB e-platform, or contacting the Research Section at (research@omsb.org).

Time:

This online workshop is organized in a 1 week period every block (usually the first week of each block) across the year. OMSB residents are enrolled in this workshop during their second research block according to their master rotation. However, interested residents may undertake this course earlier, however, for that they have to contact the OMSB Research Section at (research@omsb.org). OMSB trainers and other health professionals should contact OMSB research section for details at (research@omsb.org) for details.

Duration:

3-4 hours, however this workshop is accompanied by an online discussion forum that extends thru the corresponding week period
