Description:

A continuing education course designed as a mandatory course within Emergency Medicine (EM) program curriculum at the Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB). The course is focusing on improving and Integrating leadership principles into the clinical reasoning and resources management within real time EM department floor management.

This course is delivered as a hybrid mode (Theoretical discussion and online modules) where the physician needs to finish each week as per scheduled followed by an assessment. At the end of this course, the resident get a certificate of completion.
This course is the first of its kind delivering leadership skills in emergency medicine targeting senior residents through a hybrid learning modality.

Objectives:

- Integrate the ED Leadership, ED operations, ED management theories and principles into the clinical reasoning and resources management within real time EM department.

- Allow senior EM residents to apply their ED leadership, operative and management skills in real time secondary or tertiary hospital emergency departments early on from the first year of seniority PGY3. 

- Demonstrate competencies in using common strategies of (triage bottlenecks, overcrowding, disasters, conflict resolution)

Target: Senior Emergency Medicine Residents.
